AOR Disco
Fulfilling an insatiable appetite for a new-wave of slo-mo house and disco, the infamous blog AOR Disco has led the way in resurrecting forgotten gems from the golden age of Adult Orientated Rock. Thanks to a new generation of DJs and producers, classics from the 1960s to early ’80s are given a very modern shine whilst retaining the retro spirit of the originals.
AOR veteran Mojo Filter’s unique brand of vintage edits has seen support in both mainstream and underground dance veins the world over. Ed Simons (The Chemical Brothers) prompted 18,000 downloads from 96 countries in two weeks following his tweet of Mojo Filter’s Bert Jansch edit. His California Dreamin’ edit quickly found support from Ministry Radio and Richard Norris, while the Neil Young edit was a firm favourite of Pocketknife and Cousin Cole – a pair to whom Mojo Filter and the AOR imprint owe much of their inspiration.
In 2014 Mojo Filter travelled back to the roots of this music with a state-side Heady Mystic Road Trip tour across San Francisco, San Diego, Trinidad and Los Angeles, where he’s garnered quite a following on the California slo-mo scene.
“Mojo Filter is one of our most unconventional and exciting talents, and Vintage Edits, his four-volume CD series of psychedelic and folk-rock remixes, is one of the projects we are most proud to have been associated with.”
